CIA Solutions
A three-door site for a forensic training and lab-build practice — rebuilt, and pointed so that thirty years of search history feeds its sister firm instead of competing with it.

Overview
CIA Solutions has taught digital forensics since 1996 and builds working forensic laboratories for agencies around the world. Its website had grown to six pages, and four of them covered the same services as Evidence Advisory — the sister firm, same owner, that C4 was already being paid to promote. Two sites competing for one set of searches, and the older domain usually winning them. C4 rebuilt CIA Solutions as three doors: investigations, which hands straight over to Evidence Advisory, training, and forensic lab builds. The old service URLs now redirect to the matching Evidence Advisory pages, so thirty years of accumulated search history points at the firm that does that work rather than splitting the traffic in two. The site itself is hand-written HTML and CSS with a PHP contact handler and JSON-LD structured data — no framework, no build step and no CMS to patch — because a lot of this audience opens it on a phone in a classroom. Underneath it the whole hosting account moved across: the domain, the site and the mailboxes now run on the same account as Evidence Advisory, so the second hosting plan was no longer needed.

What I Delivered
- Rebuilt website — home, training, forensic lab builds and contact
- Investigations routed to the sister firm, Evidence Advisory, rather than duplicated
- Redirects from the old service URLs to the matching Evidence Advisory pages, so the search history carries across
- Hosting consolidation — domain, site and mailboxes moved onto the sister firm's existing account
- Working contact form with a PHP handler
- JSON-LD structured data, per-page metadata and a sitemap
- Downloadable instructor flyer
Key Features
- Three doors on the home page, one for each thing the practice actually does
- Investigation enquiries handed straight to Evidence Advisory
- Old service URLs 301 to the matching Evidence Advisory service pages
- Hand-written HTML and CSS — no framework, no build step, no CMS
- Roughly 8 KB of HTML per page, so it opens quickly on a classroom connection
- Structured data and metadata on every page
Stack & Tooling
- Hand-written HTML & CSS
- PHP (contact handling)
- Apache (cPanel hosting, shared with Evidence Advisory)
- JSON-LD structured data
Integrations & Backend
- Contact form posting to a PHP handler on the same host
- Cross-links and redirects into Evidence Advisory's service pages
Performance / SEO / Accessibility
- No framework and no build step — each page is a single hand-written HTML file of about 8 KB
- Two fonts and one stylesheet, with no client-side rendering to wait on
- Runs on the sister firm's existing hosting rather than a second plan
Challenges & Constraints
- Two businesses with one owner competing for the same searches, where the older, stronger domain was the one being cannibalised
- Keeping thirty years of search history working after a rebuild, rather than resetting it
- Moving a live domain, site and mailboxes onto another account without interrupting mail
- Rewriting the training and credential claims carefully, given the same owner gives expert evidence under the other brand
What I'd Improve Next
- Point the old expert witness URL at Evidence Advisory's expert witness page, rather than the CIA Solutions home page
- Add course dates and an enquiry-to-enrolment path once the training calendar is set
- Publish lab build case studies as they become shareable
