Genesis Realty Group
A Perth real estate agency's Canva logo, measured and redrawn as true vector so it prints sharp at any size, in the agency's own colours.

Overview
Genesis Realty Group is a real estate agency in Perth. Its logo was a Canva design the agency was happy with, and the job was to keep that logo and make it ready for print and screens in the agency's own colour codes. In the Canva file the lettering was live Century Gothic text, but the G and the R were pictures about 1,250 pixels across, so they go soft when the logo is printed large. C4 measured the file on its 2,000-pixel canvas and redrew the mark as true geometry, with one ring weight all the way round. GENESIS and REALTY GROUP were re-set in Century Gothic at the Canva sizes and letter spacing, then turned into outlines so nobody needs the font to use the files. At a glance it's the same logo. Up close, the gaps around the R are even and the white outline that sat behind it is gone. The blues now match the agency's codes, where the Canva pictures were a shade off. The final pack is three layouts in four colourways, 92 files in all, with print PDFs in the agency's CMYK values. The fourth colourway, white with the light blue R and lines, was added when the agency asked for it.
Before and after

Every version
What I Delivered
- The agency's Canva logo redrawn as true vector, with the lettering converted to outlines
- Three layouts: stacked, horizontal, and the GR mark on its own as an icon
- Four colourways: full colour, navy, white, and white with the light blue R and lines
- Every version as an SVG, a PDF for screens, a print PDF in the agency's CMYK values and a JPEG
- See-through PNGs: three sizes of each lockup, up to 4,000 pixels wide, and five of the icon, from 32 to 2,000 pixels
- 92 files in all, with a plain-English read-me that says which file to use where
- A round-one proof before anything was final: three A3 sheets with the Canva file and the redraw side by side, and the changes shown up close
What changed
- The ring of the G ran from 68 px thick at the top to 85 px at the lower left, measured on the Canva file's 2,000 px canvas. It's 78 px all the way round now.
- The gaps between the R and the G were 63 px and 36 px either side of the R's leg, and 46 px at the end of the crossbar. All three are 48 px now.
- The gap round the R was a white copy of the R sitting behind it, so it showed as a white outline on anything darker than white. It's a real gap now.
- The G's crossbar and the curve under it were two pieces, with a patch between them that left a step on the inside edge. They're one shape now.
- The ends of the G are squared off. The top end finishes square to the curve, where the Canva cut sat about 6° off, and the bottom ends run parallel to the R's leg.
- The Canva pictures had the G at #002055 and the R at #6ABDED. The redraw uses the agency's own codes, #031F4F and #77C4ED.
- REALTY GROUP sat 15 px right of centre, with its blue lines 51 px and 43 px away. It's centred now, 47 px from each line, and the lines finish level with the ends of GENESIS.
- The horizontal version has the same spacing under GENESIS as the stacked one.
Stack & Tooling
- Python, with NumPy, SciPy and scikit-image, to measure the Canva file: circle fits for the ring and line fits for the R's legs
- Python and fontTools to draw the mark as geometry and set the lettering from the Century Gothic font files
- Century Gothic Bold for GENESIS and Century Gothic for REALTY GROUP, converted to outlines
- Node and sharp: one script builds all 92 files and the read-me from the three SVG masters
- PDFs written as plain vector paths, with no fonts or pictures inside
- Every print PDF read back after the build to check it uses only the agency's CMYK values
